The Significant Harms of Wearing Masks (Surgical & N95)!
Long-COVID or Mask Induced Exhaustion Syndrome (MIES)?
I have written before about the utter lack of evidence that masks are effective against respiratory viral transmission and therefore the precautionary principal tells us they shouldn’t have been used, not to mention mandated, during the pandemic.
There are obvious detrimental effects of mask using such as the significant impact on verbal and facial communication which can have an especially negative impact on child development.
And let’s not forget that seeing everyone around you wearing a mask acts to intensify the fear and panic that was shoved down our throats for so long by the media and government. It’s clear, the mask was simply used as a talisman of fear!
But the masking, vaccinator, conformists who can’t overcome their cognitive dissonance and embrace objective reality will say…so what, they are harmless to wear and even if there is the slightest of chances they provide some protection, we should all wear them, there is no downside.
That’s clearly a delusion and aside from the obvious and well documented symptoms of chronic psychological stress (fear, anxiety, panic, depression from isolation or say losing your job), a new peer-reviewed meta-analysis beautifully outlines the negative physical side effects of wearing masks.
The authors identified 54 quality papers out of 2168 that met the inclusion criteria for their meta-analysis that specifically looked at objective physio-metabolic and clinical outcomes of wearing masks. Physio-metabolic and clinical outcome measures included blood oxygen saturation, blood carbon dioxide concentration, breathing volume, breathing rate, blood pressure, heart rate, skin temperature, humidity of trapped air, headache, skin itching, perceived exertion, shortness of breath, and perceived humidity.
Quite honestly, anyone with a brain or who had ever put on a surgical mask before knew that they impede normal breathing. But once the constant fear propaganda, masks mandates and mask Karens showed up and told us we didn’t care about others if we didn’t wear a mask, all of a sudden previously known facts and rationality disappeared!
Surprise, the results of this paper don’t paint masks in a very positive light. Aside from other papers showing that masks do nothing to prevent respiratory viral transmission, this paper showed that there are some significant risks associated with wearing them.
They can lower blood oxygen levels, increase blood carbon dioxide levels, decrease breathing volume, increase blood pressure, increase perceived exertion, increase shortness of breath, and increase headaches.
Negative impacts to breathing, blood oxygen and carbon dioxide levels can increase inflammation and oxidative stress in our bodies, negatively impact our beneficial microbiome, and decrease the activity of our immune system. You may be thinking to yourself that it sounds as though these things would increase our susceptibility to viral infections, and you’re right, it does sound that way.
Additionally, they found that the dead space between the mask and face has a higher humidity which is conducive to pathogenic bacteria growth which can be subsequently inhaled. It also makes the wearer susceptible to re-inhaling virions (virus) and bacteria in water droplets in the dead space humid air.
These are all very negative things even for the average healthy person, but for the elderly and those who are in ill health, the negative impacts of masks can be even more detrimental. It’s an interesting coincidence (or maybe it’s not a coincidence?) that many of the health conditions that exacerbate the risks of wearing masks are also the same conditions that increase the risk of sever COVID-19.
A study from 2021 by Kisielinski et. al. suggested people with the following conditions are at increased risk of the negative side effects of masks.
Look at the internal diseases, aside from old age, the list reads as the who’s who of COVID-19 risk factors.
This then begs the question, does wearing a mask actually increase the risk of COVID-19 infection and poor outcomes, the exact opposite of what we were told they would do. They are not a protection; they are a harm.
Personally, I suspected they were not all that good for us, but now I’m convinced they are actually very bad for us, particularly when worn for longer periods of time.
Brace yourselves for this nest part! After outlining all the negative effects of mask wearing and outlining the symptoms they can cause, the authors write what I consider to be the best paragraph in the whole paper. IMO it’s a big F&ck you to the propaganda machine that caused such a hyper focus on this condition as well as Long-COVID.
These authors are absolute legends in my books for this paragraph alone!
For those who have been reading my work, you will know that I have written about Long-COVID (PASC) a few times with the conclusion that it certainly exists, but the frequency and severity of it was conjured into existence by the fear, panic, and hyper focus on COVID-19 that our governments and media forced on us!
Now we have another, non-COVID-related, variable I hadn’t even thought about that contributes to the exaggerated Long-COVID phenomenon in our society.
At the end of the day, there is not much else to say except
